Manufacturing achievement

In a video address, Danny Allouche, Corporate Strategy and Development Officer for Avery Dennison, noted the new plant expands Yongle’s manufacturing footprint while keeping the business integrated within broader Avery Dennison Malaysia operations. This will help Yongle to serve its global customers through greater innovation and capacity, and with a resilient manufacturing network that addresses their needs for product solutions at a high level, regardless of changes in the business environment.

Dual-sourcing model

The Malaysia facility is a sophisticated global hub that complements Yongle’s primary manufacturing base in Hebei, China. This "dual-sourcing" model is a robust safeguard for Asian, North American and European customers against supply chain and geopolitical and industry disruptions.

“We have forty years of manufacturing expertise integrated with world-class quality control and safety protocols,” stated Robin Lu, General Manager of Avery Dennison Yongle Tape. “This ensures that every roll of tape leaving the facility meets Yongle Tape’s rigorous international standards.”

The ASEAN advantage

Malaysia was selected as the global hub site for the region’s exceptional business environment, mature supply chain and high-skilled talent pool. Vice President and General Manager of Avery Dennison Materials Group ASEAN Arthur Chan emphasized Malaysia’s synergy: “By combining Yongle’s specialized tapes with film and paper label materials from Avery Dennison, we can offer a ‘One’ Avery Dennison solution for complex applications in the automotive, industrial and packaging sectors.”

Strengthening customer confidence

The ceremony included perspectives from key global customers. One customer, representing the international market, highlighted the deep trust Yongle has developed over four decades: “For many years, we have built a relationship based on trust and business growth. Without Yongle Tape, our options for cost-effective, high-quality solutions would be significantly limited. Our customers globally have expressed their best wishes for the success of this plant.”

Following the factory tour, guests witnessed Yongle’s operational excellence firsthand. From incoming material handling to responsible business relationships, the facility provides customers with the peace of mind that comes from an exceptionally resilient supply chain.

The opening day event wrapped up with Avery Dennison and Yongle leaders expressing their gratitude to the government representatives, the dedicated Avery Dennison teams from both Malaysia and China, and the partners who supported the investment from inception to completion.

As we have for the past 90 years, Avery Dennison will continue to create customer value and conduct business in our host communities with integrity and goodwill.
